Heavy synth and piano based cinematic prog THE GERALD PETER PROJECT has recently released a music video for his new single 'Enigma' featuring award-winning soundtrack vocalist Julie Elven (singer for the game soundtracks of Horizon Zero Dawn, World of Warcraft) as well as drummer Aaron Thier (currently touring with famous Austrian comedy pop band EAV). 'Enigma' is the second release by THE GERALD PETER PROJECT to follow his 2017 debut EP ‘Incremental Changes, Pt. 1’. Gerald Peter was born in Vienna, Austria, and has previously released albums as a composer, keyboardist, and producer, with his bands Circle of Illusion and Inspirational Corner. He is a former ROLI seaboard specialist and also has been on tour as a show band musician with Cirque du Soleil.
“Every now and then I meet someone who really stands out as exceptionally talented [...] This young man is a powerhouse of talent that is not only capable of writing and playing great music but also a major production,” said Jordan Rudess, keyboardist from the prog metal band Dream Theater.
As a former ROLI product specialist and active seaboard performer, Gerald always tries to think 'out of the box' and pursues innovative and creative ways of making music.
He also performed live with THE GERALD PETER PROJECT and special guest Camille Bigeaut on drums at the NAMM show in California in 2019 at the Hilton NAMM performance stage:
Gerald performed ROLI Seaboard workshops at music exhibitions all over Europe as well. He was born 1986 in Vienna, never studied music at a conservatory. Instead, he took private lessons from various classical and jazz pianists for several years starting at the age of 10 and attended a variety of music workshops including Jazz Clinics and Film Music Workshops. Gerald holds a Masters Degree in Multimedia and Software Development from which stems his passion for technology and computer graphics. Back in 2009, he coded, together with S. Zapotocky, a real-time MIDI visualizer program called 'MIDI.live' , which also was used by Jordan Rudess on stage during his Dream Theater concerts.
THE GERALD PETER PROJECT also performs solo concerts, where Gerald incorporates his own MIDI reactive visuals, which he developed by himself working with real-time performance MIDI data both from keyboard and seaboard:
